Moto 1 was already scheduled for sat afternoon, but due to the oncoming rain for sun, they emnded up running moto 2 on sat as well. In moto 1, Andy picked up a rock in his front brake caliper dropping him to last in a field of 14, but quickly made his way up through to 3rd when a clutch spring began to fail, causing him to then drop back to finish 5th. In moto 2, Andy had a very hard fought, nose to tail, 4 lap battle for the lead but came up about 3 ft short of the win. Overall for the day was 3rd! Doing the big double jumps that make all the difference in the 90 classes because only a small handfull of kids will hit them! Then on fri went cliff jumping into the Saco river right down the road! Sat practice, the race quad is finally running great and everything seems great! Sunday......rider was fantastic! Motor overheated and blew a head gasket in moto 1. Andy was still able to limp it around and at least finish in 11th. Then we swapped motors out of the old "back-up" 70 and had the same problem in moto 2. Once again limped around to finish and salvage some points, keeping him in 2nd in the 90jr class. THEN the truck broke down on the way home and had to be towed about 80 miles back home! Perfect ending to a bad day!! Bad start in moto 2 (dead last- clutch stuck or something) but within the first lap had moved through the entire field adn crashed while making a pass for 2nd! A spectator/friend jumped the fence and pulled the quad off of him! He then continued on up through the field with a bent steering stem to finish in 4th (about 2ft behind the 3rd place rider!)
